‘’Hi. My name is Liam Grayson, a third year student at York St John University. I am currently writing a pop rock album which I intend to release will all profits going to charity. David Young recommended me to as Curtis to play bass guitar for my album. So after a few emails and some detailed planning, we met and went through the album at it’s current state. I uploaded the lyrics and notation to an online management system known as Basecamp, so Curtis could practice the songs and get to know them before the studio session. This was vital in saving time at the studio, and so that the work flow was as fluent as possible. Curtis is a very hard-working young man. We managed to record all the necessary bass guitar parts in just three 4-hour sessions. He is very committed to this project, and having to travel twice a week from Bridlington shows this. He is a very skilled musician who has brought my songs to life with his bass guitar work, he has given my album a quality that I wouldn’t have been able to achieve alone. Often he would improvise different patterns, flicks and baselines during the recordings. He had represented the genre perfectly, giving the songs the energy they were once lacking, and so I am incredibly pleased with the progress. He is a very professional session musician, punctual and the distance has yet to cause a problem to our plans. He is excited to get work done and find new clients. The bass guitar sessions went so well in fact, that I have asked Curtis to play some guitar solos for a few songs on my album over the next two weeks, and he has agreed to do that. An incredibly talented, contemporary multi-instrumentalist who I would recommend to anyone.’’
